Announcing the Publication Online of Persuasions No. 3
The complete text of Persuasions No. 3, originally published December 16, 1981, is now available on the JASNA web site.
Long out of print, Persuasions No. 3 features articles from the 1981 Annual General Meeting in San Francisco. Included are essays by J. David Grey, Mary Millard, Keiko Parker, and Ian Watt. Joan Austen-Leigh’s essay “Jane Austen in the Octopus Islands” has a teaser at the end challenging readers to identify allusions to Austen's works from the article. A partial list (not in the original essay) is included, and website visitors are invited to contribute others they spot.
Many thanks go to Montreal member Renée Charron (Treasurer, Canada), who scanned and corrected the full text of Persuasions No. 3, as she also did for the other nine out-of-print issues of Persuasions.
