2011 Birthday Tea

JASNA Pittsburgh gathered on Saturday, December 10th, 2011 at the First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh for our annual Birthday Tea. Members and Friends enjoyed a potluck of sweets and savories and birthday cake in recognition of Austen’s 236th birthday on December 16th.
The highlight of the meeting was a rousing game of trivia, led by Game Master and long-time JASNA member Jim Zunic. This battle of the wits included three teams: Darcy’s Darlings, The Badly Dones, and Bath Bathing Beauties. The competition (and friendly heckling) was fierce, with the three teams answering challenging questions related to Austen, famous world figures, and many of her historical contemporaries. The Badly Dones prevailed and won the game, claiming Austen pencils and note cards as their spoils.
