June 8, 2008

On June 8, 2008, JASNA President Marsha Huff will deliver a lecture, "Viewing Austen through Vermeer's Camera Obscura," at 2 p.m. in the University of Washington's Henry Art Gallery in Seattle. Ms. Huff will pair Vermeer paintings with scenes from Austen's novels and analyze how the two artists construct their portraits of female domesticity and convey the inner life of their subjects.
