Jane Austen's Great Houses in Fact and Fiction

The theme for the 2008 JASNA-sponsored tour was "Jane Austen's Great Houses in Fact and Fiction." This tour combined visits to manor houses Austen knew and estates featured in film and television adaptations of her novels. The itinerary included such landmarks as Chatsworth, Stoneleigh Abbey, and The Vyne. Elizabeth Proudman, considered by many to be the best Austen guide in England, led the tour. All JASNA-sponsored tours offer entree to private homes and special events not available to the public.
