The Greater Chicago Region of JASNA is proud to host the 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Jane Austen Society of North America in Chicago during October 2-5, 2008, at the Westin Michigan Avenue Hotel.
Almost two centuries after an Austen novel was first published, her work continues to have influence which is difficult to measure. It extends from the highest levels of literary scholarship and criticism to the broadest dimensions of popular culture. The reach of her impact is literally global in scope. Our theme, "Austen's Legacy: Life, Love & Laughter," is intended to reflect on this influence.
